Liverpool to sign Jeremy Doku as replacement for AFCON bound Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane
Premier League giants, Liverpool are planning to sign Belgian international Jeremy Doku from Stade Rennes in the January transfer window as replacement for Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane.
Salah and Mane are set to represent Egypt and Senegal respectively for next year’s Cup of Nations.
The 2021 African Cup of Nations had to be postponed to January 2022 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The tournament has been slated for January 9th to February 6th.
However, according to Daily Express, Liverpool trainer Jurgen Klopp may sign Doku in January to provide cover in the absence of the influential duo.
The 19-year-old has been a long-term target for Liverpool and could join the club if they are able to meet the £38million price tag.
