Majeed Ashimeru impresses former Anderlecht player Bassegio

Walter Bassegio, an ex-Anderlecht player, spoke with La Derniere Heure about the current Purple & White team. He believes there is an issue in their midfield.

Anderlecht, according to Bassegio, should use more offensive players in midfield and he would prefer Majeed Ashimeru to Kristoffer Olsson.

“Olsson is a player who defends more and Anderlecht have had enough of that,” said Bassegio.

“There is a lack of a real number ten at Anderlecht, which means there is too much space between the lines,” Bassegio analyzed.

He wants to see if Ashimeru can repeat his outstanding performance against a tougher team than Eupen.

On matchday 27, Anderlecht will face SV Zulte Waregem. The Purple & White will attempt to maintain its position in the top four at the Gaverbeek.
