Match-fixing: I trust GFA to do the right thing – Ashantigold President Dr Kwaku Frimpong
Ashantigold President Dr Kwaku Frimpong is hoping the right thing is done by the Ghana Football Association with regards to the alleged match-fixing game between the club and Inter Allies.
Ashantigold and Inter Allies were suspected to have played a match of inconvenience on matchday 34 of the league last season.
However, the President of the miners alongside his Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel Frimpong have been slapped with charges of match manipulation.
The image of Ghana football was dented when Ashantigold defeated Inter Allies 7-0 on home turf.
Inter Allies captain Hashmin Musah revealed after the game that he deliberately scored two own goals in order to foil a bet placed on the match.
In an interview with Kumasi based Akoma FM, Dr Kwaku Frimpong disclosed he does not bet on matches but rather has prophets who prophesy his matches and has therefore charged the FA to do the right thing.
“I don’t do betting but rather I have prophets who prophesy on our game sand give us results, and when I come out with the results, they say I engage in betting”
“I don’t want to talk much on my case (Ashantigold/Inter Allies) because I trust GFA to do the right thing” he said.
