Match Preview: AshantiGold vs Bechem United, Miners to dig deep for maximum points against Hunters
AshantiGold SC host Bechem United at the Len Clay Stadium, Obuasi in a match day 21 Ghana Premier League encounter.
The Miners come into the game after drawing goalless with King Faisal at the Ohene Ameyaw Park in Techiman last weekend. A win for will see them overtake Bechem United on the table.
Ashgold currently lie 8th on the table on 27 points while Bechem who have three more than the Miners lie a spot above them too.
Sunday’s encounter will be the 10th home game for Ashgold this season. They have won five, drawn three and lost only one of the previous nine matches played at the Len Clay Sports Stadium. Overall they have collected 18 points along the stretch.
Bechem on the other hand will be playing their 10th game on the road this season. They have collected just 5 points from their travels with a very poor record of 1 win, 2 draws and 6 defeats.
The visitors will be wary of this trip to Obuasi following what befell them on their last visit. The Hunters were pummeled 4-0 by Asante Kotoko at the Len Clay Stadium, their heaviest defeat this season.
They are however coming into the game inspired by the 4-0 win against Aduana Stars last Sunday.
Despite Ashgold being favorites they still cannot afford to underestimate Bechem United who have a squad capable of upsetting the odds.
The match is scheduled for 3pm kick off at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium on Sunday.
