Match Preview: Eleven Wonders eye home win over Berekum Chelsea to help survival fight

Relegation threatened Eleven Wonders will host Berekum Chelsea on Saturday to open Match Week 31 of the Ghana Premier League.

Both sides aren’t safe just yet as the season enters the few final laps.

Eleven Wonders lost their last game to Dreams FC and find themselves lying just above the relegation zone by virtue of a better head to head record against King Faisal FC.

Currently on 31 points, the Techiman-based side trail 11th placed Berekum Chelsea by 4 points. They know perfectly that a win against their guests will get them closer to safety than to the drop zone although that depends on how other results go.

However, Coach Ignatius Osei Fosu knows his side cannot afford to miss grabbing all three points.

At home, Eleven Wonders are the worst team in the league while using the last 5 matches as a form guide.

They have picked 7 just points (W 2, D1 L2) one fewer than other relegation candidates King Faisal and Liberty Professionals.

On the basis of home and away games, Wonders have not recorded a draw in the last 5 games both home and away. They have won 2 and lost 3 along this stretch.

Chelsea’s is no different from their opponent for this afternoon’s encounter. The Bibires have won just 7 points in the last 5 games. What is strikingly grim for their chances is that they have lost all their last 5 away games.

This should inspire confidence in the home side, however there should no room for complacency if Eleven Wonders are to get all three points.
