Match Report: Great Olympics 0-0 Asante Kotoko, Porcupine Warriors stay top after goalless stalemate
Asante Kotoko maintained their status as league leaders following their goalless draw result against Great Olympics on Friday.
The Dade Boys welcomed the Porcupine Warriors to the Accra Sports Stadium for this Match Week 20 encounter eyeing a return to the summit of the table. Kotoko also had revenge on their mind but set up strategically to not lose the game.
Olympics started with talisman and captain Gladson Awako in the middle with the likes of James Akaminko also involved.
Their activities in the middle however were limited by the Kotoko setup with Habib Mohammed man marking Awako out of the game.
The first half saw few half chances with much of the play in the middle. Eventually it drew to a close with both teams failing to find the net.
Back from recess, the second half played out similarly as the first with chances few and far between.
Kotoko had the best chance to score when Patrick Asmah located Michael Vinicius with a cross. however the Brazilian headed over the bar.
The Match ended goalless with Great Olympics and Asante Kotoko splitting the points.
With the result, Kotoko stay top of the table on 35 points while Olympics remain in second place having 34 points.
