Mohammed Salisu, the new sensation in the Premier

A familiar face of Real Valladolid is the new sensation of the Premier League. And it is that, Mohammed Salisu, who continues to be the most expensive sale in the history of the Blanquivioleta club, is signing a spectacular start to the season with Southampton FC.

The Ghanaian’s first season in the Premier was somewhat complicated. The defender had a hard time gaining the trust of coach Ralph Hasenhüttl. Salisu’s career changed so much and so fast that he arrived at Southampton far from the competitive and physical level that a League like the English requires. The player’s adaptation was marked by different physical ailments that did not even allow him to enter the summons.

The dynamics started out being very negative, but the former white-and-black managed to reverse the situation. In a moment of bad luck for the English team, as he did in Valladolid, Salisu managed to make a dent in the team. Thus, the Ghanaian ended up playing 12 games in the 2020/2021 season, that is, 841 minutes.

Exciting start

But the doubts that accompanied the Ghanaian in his first season have disappeared. The center-back is having a very good start to the season. So much so that, in the first week of competition, he leads his team in hits, passes, punts, interceptions and successful innings.

What’s more, such is the form of the former whites that, this Tuesday he scored his first goal with the Southampton shirt in the victory against Sheffield United.

English fans are delighted with the defender, who could be one of the great promises of European football. From Valladolid they smile when they see a player who grew up with the blanquivioleta shirt take off.
