MTN FA Cup Highlights: Ashgold advance to semis after win over Kintampo Top Talent FC
Ashanti Gold SC have advanced to the semi-finals of the 2020/21 MTN FA Cup competition after defeating Kintampo Top Talent 4-2 on Saturday.
The Ghana Premier League side has performed well in the domestic cup competition this season and remains one of the sides that can go on to become champions.
At the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium, the Miners hosted the lower-tier side in a quarter-final encounter.
Courtesy of goals from Frank Akoto and Opoku Agyemang, Ashgold led at the break although an own goal from Kwadwo Amoako kept the visitors in the game.
After recess, Paul Asare and Amos Addai equalized in the 48th and 70th minutes respectively to drag the game beyond the reach of Kintampo Top Talents.
Although Prince Kofi Sarkodie scored in added time for the away side, Ashgold held on to win 4-2 at the end of the contest.
