MTN FA Cup R64: Great Olympics suffer shock exit after defeat to Real Athletico
Great Olympics have been eliminated from the 2021/2022 MTN FA Cup contest after losing to Real Athletico at the Round 64 stage.
The capital-based club last season did quite well in the domestic cup competition although they failed to reach the semi-final stage.
This season, the club based in Accra had hoped to do better to try and win the title at the end of the competition.
Today, Great Olympics faced the first opponent at the Round 64 stage when the side played against Real Athletico.
At the end of the regulation period, both teams settled for a 1-1 draw and had to be separated by the lottery of the shootout.
Unfortunately, for Accra Great Olympics, the team lost 3-1 on penalties and as a result shockingly bow out of this season’s MTN FA Cup competition.
