MTN FA Cup: WAFA crash out after defeat to Heart of Lions in Round 64

Ghana Premier League side WAFA has been eliminated from the MTN FA Cup following defeat to Division One outfit, Heart of Lions on Wednesday.

The Division One League club progressed to the round of 32 after piping WAFA 4-3 on penalties at the Kpando Sports Stadium.

Emmanuel Gyan opened the scoring for Lions in the eight minute before the WAFA restored parity in the dyeing embers of the match to force the game into penalties.

The Academy boys made changes to the team that played against Kotoko last weekend where they lost 1-0 to the Porcupine Warriors.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko have been booted out of the compettion after losing 1-0 to City rival King Faisal.

Karela also progressed after beating rivals Medeama 5-4 on penalties.

Both teams were tied 2-2 after regulation time.
