My best game for Anderlecht maybe against Royal Antwerp – Majeed Ashimeru
Ghana international Majeed Ashimeru has picked Anderlecht’s clash against Royal Antwerp as his best game for the club so far.
The enterprising midfielder has become a key cog to Vincent Kompany’s outfit since breaking into the starting line up in February.
Ashimeru’s involvement in the last six games for the Purple and White has yielded positive results with Anderlecht winning 6 and drawing 1 in the process.
He has scored one and provided two assists in the process.
He was on top form when Anderlecht defeated Royal Antwerp 2-1 on home turf, assisting Joshua Zirkzee’s goal on the 24th minute.
“When I saw Zirkzee run, I knew where to give him the ball. And in the penalty phase, I knew how Nainggolan would play the ball,” Ashimeru said after the game. “But this victory was above all a collective effort.”
According to the 24-year-old, his best game for the Purple and White in the ongoing season maybe against Royal Antwerp on Sunday.
“That was maybe my best game for Anderlecht”, he said after the game.
Ashimeru is expected to make the Ghana squad for the upcoming World Cup play-off against Nigeria next week.
