My father was given a task and he was able to do it - Son of CK Akonnor

Kadmiel Akonnor, son of former Black Stars coach C.K Akonnor, believes his father did not fail Ghana’s national team, the Black Stars.

Following receipt of technical reports from Ghana’s Group G World Cup qualifying matches against Ethiopia and South Africa, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council terminated the appointment of Black Stars Coach Charles Akonnor and his two assistants.

In response, his son, Kadmielli, expressed disappointment but added that he still supports his father in all of his efforts. He feels his father did not fail the Black Stars.

“He did not fail in anyway. He was given a task and he was able to do it. He did what he was supposed to do. I was very down and sad but he is a strong man so all is well,” he said.

Speaking to Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, the musician stated that some of the statements about his father’s career as a player and coach were disrespectful and needed to be addressed.

“I replied some of them but later realized that I shouldn’t have. Some guy was insulting him on twitter and I replied but used some words that I shouldn’t have,”

“When my father (C.K Akonnor) advised Thomas Partey not to join Arsenal, someone commented and said he did not do anything with his career and will even rush to be a ball boy at Arsenal,” he concluded.
