National Women’s League: Berry Ladies end Hasaacas Ladies’ unbeaten run in final game
After giving a guard of honor to the reigning champions, Berry Ladies ensured that Hasaacas Ladies had no extra pleasure on Saturday as they ended their unbeaten run on the final day of the season.
Berry Ladies were overpowered for the first place spot by coach Yusif Basigi’s ladies in the southern zone who will now play Ampem Darkoa Ladies in the championship finals.
The host were thus on a mission of ruining the celebrations of Hasaacas Ladies and went on to defeat them by a lone goal which was scored by Grace Adams in the 39th minute.
The win ended Hasaacas Ladies’ 13 games unbeaten run in the 2020/21 season.
Unlike their championship final opponent, Ampem Darkoa Ladies succeeded in ending the season unbeaten after playing out a dramatic 3-3 draw with Northern Ladies in the final game of the season.
Priscilla Okyere netted in the 4th minute to give the already crowned champions the lead but Rahama scored twice in the 21st and 47th minute to hand the host the adavantage.
Ampem Darkoa’s resilience was rewarded as Priscilla Okyere netted her 16th and 17th goal of the season to give her side all the three pints.
