NFF apologizes once more, stating that FIFA official died as a result of a cardiac arrest
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has apologized once more to Nigerians for the Super Eagles’ inability to qualify for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
This was part of the declaration published at the conclusion of the federation’s executive committee meeting, which took place on Tuesday in Abuja to examine crucial concerns in the country’s football industry.
They praised President Muhammadu Buhari for his attendance and apologized for the team’s failure to get a trip to Qatar after losing against Ghana’s Black Stars.
The NFF also reacted to the invasion of the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja by supporters enraged over the Eagles’ defeat to Ghana.
It was emphasized that the occurrence had nothing to do with the death of Dr. Joseph Kabungo, who was the FIFA Doping Officer for the Nigeria-Ghana playoff game in Abuja.
The autopsy report affirms to Dr. Kabungo’s death was a result of sudden cardiac arrest, according to the football regulatory body.
It went on to say that the FIFA official’s body had been taken to Zambia for last rites, accompanied by his family members, who had been flown to Nigeria two days earlier.
