Nigeria coach Augustine Eguavoen confirm team’s readiness to face Ghana on Friday

The head coach of the Nigeria national team, Augustine Eguavoen has stressed that his side is ready for the first leg of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers playoff tie against Ghana.

Speaking after the Super Eagles’ first training session in Abuja on Tuesday, the coach said he has been impressed with the work put in by the invited players so far.

He said the team is focused and ready for the first of the two meetings between Nigeria and Ghana.

“I am very satisfied, you can see that the boys are ready to go. The good thing is that they are in season, they are in form and their confidence is very high. No injury worries and I am very satisfied with what we saw in our first training session, one hour, 15 minutes.

“Hopefully, we’ll have two more training sessions before the game, anything more than that will be suicidal. It is more of tactical talks than physicality now. We are ready to go,” Coach Augustine Eguavoen told the press after the training session.

The first leg of the meeting between Ghana and Nigeria will be played on Friday, March 25, 2022.

The encounter is scheduled to kick off at 19:30GMT and will be staged at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
