Nigeria head coach Augustine Eguavoen in dilemma over whether to start newbie Ademola Lookman

Nigeria head coach Augustine Eguavoen is facing a selection headache ahead of Friday night’s big game against Ghana in the playoff of the African qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Besides the already star players of the Super Eagles, the gaffer for this crucial double-header invited a number of new exciting talents.

With less than 24 hours to the first leg of the game against Ghana, Coach Augustine Eguavoen is sweating on whether to start Ademola Lookman or Akinkunmi Amoo.

Both talented attackers are in the Nigeria squad for the first time and tipped to help the side to overcome the opponent over the course of the two legs.

Speaking in an interview, team captain Ahmed Musa has said he is confident coach Eguavoen will make the right decision for the team.

“The new players Amoo and Lookman, the coach will decide who is going to start or they are going to come from the bench.

“Everyone is ready, there is nothing new, but when you come into a new team, you have to understand what and what not, the Nigerian spirit,” Musa shared.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria team has arrived in Kumasi and will hold a training session at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium this evening.

Tomorrow’s encounter between Ghana and Nigeria is scheduled kick-off at 19:30GMT.
