OFFICIAL: Asante Kotoko complete the signing of Unistar Academy striker Andy Kumi
Premier League giants Asante Kotoko have announced the signing of Unistar Academy goal poacher Francis Andy Kumi on transfer deadline day.
The young striker has signed a four year deal with the Porcupine Warriors in what appears a surprise signing to many.
The Division One League player’s fame caught fire in the Ghanaian media after his goal scoring prowess swept through the Zone Two with blistering speed.
Andy recently earned a call up into the Black Stars as one of the only three Division One League players who were given the opportunity by Coach CK Akonnor.
The 21-year old striker scored 7 goals in 8 games for the Academy side in the ongoing Division One League.
Andy was the second top scorer in Zone Two, behind Prince Owusu Kwabena of Bibiani Goldstars.
Andy is set to replace Kwame Opoku who has left Asante Kotoko for USM Alger.
