Otto Addo responds to fans booing misfiring Jordan Ayew

Otto Addo, Head Coach of the Black Stars, has defended misfiring striker Jordan Ayew, who was the target of crowd anger during Ghana’s FIFA World Cup qualifier against Nigeria.

The Black Stars attacker was booed by Ghana fans at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday evening, as fans were unhappy with his performance as Ghana drew 0-0 with the Super Eagles.

When asked about the boos directed towards Ayew, coach Otto Addo dismissed them, claiming the 30-year-old had a solid game.

Ayew wasted a lot of Ghana’s set pieces against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

“The booing I think is for me, no problem. I think it’s normal. Jordan played well and had a very good performance especially in the first half,” he said.

“What they [fans] don’t know is we watch a lot of matches – me and my squad. I think we know what each of them is capable of, he added.
