The Black Stars hope of qualifying to the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament remains intact following a 1-0 win over Zimbabwe.

Ghana now sits top of Group G with 9 points and awaits the results from the South Africa and Ethiopia clash who play later on Tuesday in Johannesburg.

Arsenal star Thomas Partey’s 30-minute freekick was all the Black Stars needed to secure maximum points against the Warriors at the National Stadium in Zimbabwe.

Coach Milovan Rajevac replaced Kamaldeen Sulemana with Kofi Kyereh, who had an opportunity that went inches wide.

Captain Andre Ayew, Samuel Owusu, Caleb Ekuban were all brought on with five minutes left as the West Africans run down the clock for an important victory.
