Raphael Dwamena urged to consider quitting football over recurring heart problems
Dr Prince Pamboe has urged striker Raphael Dwamena to consider retiring from active football due to his heart-related problems.
The Ghanaian forward has dominated the headlines for the wrong reasons after he collapsed last week.
The 26-year-old was rushed to the hospital during a game in the Austrian Cup third-round clash between Blau-Weiß Linz and Harterg.
Following his collapse, the game was subsequently called off.
Dwamena in the past two seasons has suffered a lot of setbacks in his career due to his recurring heart problems.
According to Dr Prince Pamboe, it’s time his handlers advise him to quit football and seek medical help.
“It is time his manager sits with Raphael Dwamena and have a discussion with him. Whatever device was implanted in his heart either could have gotten worse or creating another problem thus there is the need to do a re-evaluation”, he told TV3 on Warm Up+.
The former Levante striker is currently in stable condition after his recent relapse and has been discharged from the hospital.
Dwamena in 2017 failed to join Brighton in a transfer move due to his heart condition.
