REVEALED: Ghana defender Andy Yiadom played with an injury to help Reading in April
Ghana international, Andy Yiadom played with a foot injury to help Reading FC in the English Champions during April, footballghana has learned.
The full-back according to his manager Paul Ince did not have any problem keeping the fight going just so he could help his team.
“We had no choice but to play Terell. Yiadom was playing with a fractured foot over the past three or four weeks so that shows a lot about his character,” the Reading manager said while explaining why Andy Yiadom missed the game against West Brom.
Manager Paul Ince continued, “He shouldn’t have been playing but he was having injections and he’s got games with Ghana in June and the World Cup too so to do what he did was fighting for the cause.
“That shows the mentality and culture of the players you want in this club. We knew all along he wouldn’t start but Terell did very well. He’s not played since the end of January – apart from a few U23 games – but to go and play right-back in the way he did was exceptional.”
Andy Yiadom is likely to miss Reading’s next match but should recover in time before Ghana begins the qualifiers for the 2023 AFCON.
