‘Ricky Korboa is a player that fits all of the dimensions at Woking FC’ – Darren Sarll
Woking FC manager Darren Sarll has expressed his excitement following the signing of Ghanaian winger Ricky Korboa from Sutton United.
Korboa joins the English National League side on a two-year deal, until the end of the 2023/24 season.
The highly-rated winger made 20 appearances for Sutton United last season, scored three goals and provided one assist across all competitions as The Us finished 8th on the English Football League Two table with 76 points after 46 games played.
“Ricky is a player that fits all of the dimensions in which we are trying to take the recruitment of the club,” Darren Sarll said as quoted by the club’s official website.
“He’s a good age, has experience in the EFL and experience in non-league. He’s committed now for two years which is a benefit to me in terms of having the time to work with him.
“He’s exciting, athletic, creative, and to me, if he can develop his goalscoring ratio, we’ve got a very good player on our hands.”
The 25-year-old played for Carshalton Athletic across seven seasons where he scored 55 goals in 168 games.
He was named in the Isthmian League Team of the Season for 2018/19, and won five of the club’s seven player of the year awards that season.
In 2020, Korboa joined League One Northampton Town, where he made 15 appearances before signing for Sutton United last summer.
He will be sponsored by RAMS FM in 2022/23.
