RTU awarded 3 points and 3 goals against Techiman City
Real Tamale United have been awarded 3 points and 3 goals against Techiman City in relation to a Match Day 16 encounter which the latter failed to honor.
The Tamale based club protested against the Techiman based club for failing to honour the game which was scheduled to come off in WA.
Techiman City after threatened they won’t honour the match following the decision to move the game away from their original home venue (in Techiman) to Wa went by their words by failing to show up for the game.
RTU in their protest, claimed Techiman City failed to appear for the Pre-Match Technical meeting and also failed to appear for the match scheduled to be played between the two clubs forcing the referee to end the match after waiting for 30 minutes after kick-off time.
RTU consequently urged the Disciplinary Committee to declare them as the winner of the match and to award the match points and three goals in their favour in accordance with Article 33(3) of the GFA Division One League Regulations.
After hearing the case of the respondent (Techiman City), the Disciplinary Committee awarded RTU 3 points and 3 goals.
Techiman City on the other hand have been deducted 3 points and 3 goals for their no show.
RTU have now jumped to the summit of the Division One Zone 1 League table with 40 points two points ahead of second place Steadfast FC.
