RTU management member, Alhaji Habib fires back at Kofi Manu
A member of Real Tamale United (RTU) management and vice Chairman of the club’s supporters, Alhaji Habib Abdul Rahaman has hit back at Kofi Manu (Blue Boy) for his alleged comments, the GFA president promised Northern Clubs he will qualify them to the Premier League when he is voted into power.
The former Techiman City CEO made this allegations on Asempa Fm. Kofi Manu alleged the President of the Ghana Football Association, Mr. Kurt E.S. Okraku during his campaign tour of the North, promised clubs of Premiership football when he takes over the management of the sport in Ghana.
This however has not gone down well with some administrators of the game. One of such personality is Alhaji Habib who feels disappointed about those comments from Kofi Manu. “I’m very disappointed in Kofi Manu for this unfounded allegations, for a football administrator to make such comments about clubs in the North is pure tribalism and he should come again”
He threw the challenge to Kofi Manu to produce evidence of those claims and accept the fact that the Northern Clubs have prepared well for this year’s competition.” Does the FA president play football or what does he seek to achieve by making those allegations” Alhaji Habib told Wallace on Asempa Fm Sports Show.
Three clubs from Tamale including Steadfast, RTU and Tamale City are all in poll position to qualify to the Premier League next season after some scintillating show this campaign culminating in their positions in Zone One. Steadfast lead the pack with 33 points same as RTU after 16 matches.
Alhaji Habib says people must accept that the Tamale-based clubs have prepared well for this season. “RTU recruited some of the best players and we are motivating our players as well, that’s the results we are churning out at the moment so he should come again”
The Division One League continues this week with The Pride of the North welcoming Kintampo FC to the Aliu Mahama Sports stadium.
