Samuel Inkoom blames ‘arrogant’ Nana Yaw Amponsah for not returning to Kotoko
Former Ghana U20 World Cup winner Samuel Inkoom has mildly blasted the CEO of Asante Kotoko for his expected move to Accra Hearts of Oak.
Inkoom who is an adored ‘son’ of the Porcupine Warriors is back in the country to relaunch his diminishing career.
Many had expected the hardworking right back, who was christened ‘Eboue’ by the fans of Kotoko, to return to the club since he was their adored son.
But after more than a month of being in the country, the defender was seen training with bitter rivals of Kotoko – Hearts of Oak – to the disagreement of several Kotoko fans.
But the player whose love for Kotoko has never been questioned has revealed he may be joining Hearts because the Kotoko VEO feels too big to call him to return to the club.
“Don’t blame me for my expected Hearts of Oak move. Asante Kotoko CEO feels big to call me,” Inkoom told Onua TV/FM
“Asante Kotoko fans should blame their CEO, Nana Yaw Amponsah not me,” he added.
Inkoom left the shores of Ghana in 2009 to pursue his career in Europe after spending just a season at Ghana Premier League heavyweights Asante Kotoko.
The experienced right back has played for several clubs in 9 different countries including Switzerland, Ukraine, France, Greece, United States of America, Portugal, Turkey, Bulgaria and Georgia.
He has been unattached since January after parting ways with Georgian top-flight league outfit Torpedo Kutaisi.
Inkoom has capped 44 times for the Black Stars of Ghana with a goal to his credit.
