Schlupp surpasses Essien as Ghanaian with most EPL appeareances
Jeffery Schlupp surpassed Michael Essien over the weekend to become the Ghanaian player with the most appearances in the English Premier League.
The record over the last few years had been held by Michael Essien who established himself as a legend for Chelsea.
Having joined the Blues in 2005, the defensive midfielder played until 2014 and featured in as many as 168 matches while winning numerous titles with the club.
Last Saturday when Jeffrey Schlupp featured for his Crystal Palace outfit in the 2-0 win against Sheffield United, it marked his 169th appearance in the English Premier League.
As a result, the Black Stars defender is now the Ghana player with the most appearances in the English top-flight league.
