Sola Ayew: Andre Ayew’s Al Sadd move can provide the luck to end Ghana’s AFCON drought
Former Ghanaian footballer and a family member to the Andre Ayew, Sola Ayew has revealed that the move by the Black Stars captain to Al Sadd could provide the needed luck to inspire Ghana to end its AFCON drought.
After partying ways with Swansea City at the end of the 2020/2021 football season, Andre Ayew has secured a move to Qatari giants Al Sadd SC.
According to Sola Ayew, although many are not in support of the move, it could be what helps Ghana to win the Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
“It could be that the Qatar move will be the luck the country needed to ensure we win a title in the coming years and I believe something good will come from it.
“This is not the first time the family has seen someone move to Qatar, considering Abedi Pele and myself once played there before moving to Europe. It’s not something new in our family,” the ex-Ghana player said in an interview with Ashh FM.
Sola Ayew added, “Sometimes situations make us take certain decisions so we all support him to play in the country. It’s not about his form but about enjoying football in Qatar.”
