Son Heung-min wants South Korea to cruise over Ghana and others at 2022 World Cup
South Korea captain, Son Heung-min is aiming for a successful World Cup in Qatar later this year.
The Asian side have been paired with Ghana, Portugal, and Uruguay in Group H.
The Tottenham Hotspur speaking ahead of the tournament scheduled to kick off in November said he is hoping to lead his side to make history in the Arab country.
“There is nothing impossible. I am the national team captain Instead of thinking negatively that it might be difficult, you have to have a positive mind,” the attacking forward said.
‘The National’ is a media covering the economy, sports, and culture of Southwest Asia and North Africa, mainly in the United Arab Emirates. Son Heung-min said, “This is the third final. I am dreaming of a successful World Cup.
“The first and second World Cups were not successful. I learned a lot (through failure).”
“Now I am the captain. I sincerely hope that we can do better (even because of the sense of responsibility that I personally feel),” he added.
On November 24th, Korea will play the first leg of the World Cup Group H against Uruguay before their second game against Ghana.
Korea will wrap up their group phase games against Portugal.
