Spanish couple names son after Ghana forward Samuel Obeng

A Spanish couple has named their newborn baby after Ghana international Samuel Obeng.

The couple, David Díaz and Silvia Barreiro are hard-core fans of lower-tier club Real Oviedo.

In the last couple of seasons where the couple has watched Samuel Obeng play for Real Oviedo, they have enjoyed his performance and as a result, decided to name their newborn baby after the powerful striker.

The baby boy has been named Samuel Díaz Barreiro.

Due to the strong love for Real Oviedo, the baby boy has also been registered as a fan of the Spanish club.

This week, Ghana’s Samuel Obeng has had the chance to meet his new fan. Honoured by the decision by the couple, the forward has been very excited.

When he met the baby boy, he said, “Very handsome, very pretty.”

Hopefully, Samuel Díaz Barreiro will grow up to play football just like Samuel Obeng.
