St Pauli coach Timo Schultz won’t risk Ghana’s Daniel Kofi Kyereh after latest injury

St Pauli boss Timo Schultz says he will not risk to play Ghana midfielder Daniel Kofi Kyereh after latest injury setback.

The 26-year-old suffered an injury in their game against Werder Bremen last week, a game Kofi Kyereh scored.

He scored the side only goal when they played a 1-1 draw with Werder Bremen.

The enterprising midfielder who has had a descent a campaign in the German second-tier could miss their game against SV Sandhausen in the German Bundesliga 2 on Saturday.

He has not trained this week due to the injury and is expected to miss their game.

St Pauli coach ahead of their trip to SV Sandhausen hopes Kofi Kyereh will recover as soon as possible but indicated the club will not risk to play him.

“Kofi has had thigh problems since the game against Werder Bremen,” St Pauli coach Timo Schultz said at the press conference ahead of their game.

“We hope that we can get this under control as soon as possible, but we won’t take any risks,” he added.

Kofi Kyereh has scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists in 26 games.

The midfielder was part of the Black Stars squad that secured qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament to staged in Qatar later this year.
