St Pauli manager Timo Schultz highlights Daniel Kofi-Kyereh’s importance to club

St Pauli boss Timo Schultz has highlighted the importance of Daniel Kofi-Kyereh to the team as they seek to secure promotion to the German top-flight at the end of the season.

The 25-year-old has been outstanding for his outfit in the ongoing Bundesliga 2 campaign scoring 5 and providing 10 assists in 18 matches.

His impressive run of form earned him a place in the Black Stars AFCON 2021 suqad where Ghana failed to excel at the tournament.

He has not featured for the club since his return to the club due to an injury he sustained while in action for Ghana.

His absence has affected the team’s performance having failed to win a game in their last five matches.

According to the coach, the Ghanaian midfielder is an important player to the team considering his goals, assists and others.

“Of course, Kofi is extremely valuable to us,” explains Schultz. “You just have to look at your data. With his goals (five, ed.) and assists (ten, ed.), with his dribbling, his offensive solutions, but also with his strength on the ball, he is an extremely important player for us,” he added.

St Pauli were handed with a massive injury boost as Kofi-Kyereh returned to training this week but it is unknown whether he will feature in the weekend fixture.
