Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi out for the rest of the season

Brendan Rodgers, manager of Leicester City, revealed that Wilfred Ndidi would miss the rest of the season due to injury.

The Super Eagles midfielder, will not play for Leicester City against Manchester United in a Premier League match on Saturday.

Ndidi was hurt in the second half of Leicester City’s Europa League match against Rennes earlier this month and has since had surgery.

He also did not play in Nigeria’s 2022 FIFA World Cup double-leg playoff versus Ghana’s Black Stars. He was replaced by Innocent Bonke in the Nigerian squad for the doubleheader against Ghana.

“Wilfred Ndidi will be out for the season, it’s a shame for us, but he will get ready for next season,” Rodgers told the media.

“It’s unfortunate. He’s been a brilliant player for me in my time here. He picked up a nasty injury that has had to have surgery on and he will recover now until June.” he added.
