TACKLING HOOLIGANISM: GFA President meets Unity FC management on way forward
President of the Ghana Football Association, President Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku and his entourage have met the management of Unity FC at the Kenyasi Nana Abiri Park on Monday.
The engagement forms part of a 4-day tour being championed by the Ghana FA to the Bono, Ahafo and Northern Regions to preach against hooliganism and violence at match venues in the National Division One League.
Nsoatreman and Mighty Royals have all been given bans from playing at home due to attacks on referees and opponents.
The meeting with the Unity FC management allowed for discussions on how security can be improved during Division One League matches as the GFA works on clamping down on hooliganism.
Zone One of the Division One League has witnessed cases of violent attacks on referees, other match officials and some team officials as well.
During the meeting, the Unity FC management were advised to get a Security Coordinator who will liaise with security agencies to help ensure peace on match days.
The Ghana FA President Kurt Okraku used the opportunity to re-echo his promise that he will help fulfill all his campaign promises of making Ghana Football a dominant force once again.
