Thomas Duah’s role as assistant Coach of AshantiGold SC has been upgraded to Head Coach for the rest of the season, FMIG can confirm.

The development has become possible due to the position of Head Coach been left vacant at the club following the sudden exit of Romain Folz.

Folz was only brought on board a couple of months ago to take over the club’s technical affairs. However, the Coach has left the country and the job for reasons yet unknown to the public.

Reacting to the development, the club who are now set to appoint their 4th Coach of the ongoing season have decided to elevate Thomas Duah’s status to Head Coach.

Communications Director of the club, Eric Karikari confirmed this during an interview with Kumasi based OTEC FM.

He said “There are few matches to end the season so management has appointed Thomas Duah to take charge of the team on an interim basis till the end of the season”

“We have no plans to bring in another coach as of now”, he added.

Ashgold started the season with Milovan Cirkovic. The Coach subsequently left the country citing the need to be with his family as reason. Subsequently Sarfo Castro and Romain Folz have all passed through as Head Coaches of the club at different periods.
