VIDEO: Massive boost for struggling Hearts of Oak as Gladson Awako joins teammates for training

Highly-rated midfielder, Gladson Awako has finally started training with Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak after a traditional chief of his Teshie neighbourhood intervened to bring an end to the long-drawn-out saga with the Accra-based giants.

Spiritual fear allegedly gripped Awako after signing for the defending league champions before the start of the season even though the player has refused to say why he has opted not to play for the Phobians despite signing a contract.

The controversy surrounding his absence seems to have ended after the intervention of Teshie Gbugblah Oblahiaaa Mantse (Youth Chief), Original Nii Martey Laryea I, inspired him to return to change his mind and rejoin his Hearts Oak teammates.

The 30-year-old has finally started training with Hearts of Oak’s youth team, Auroras.

He was spotted at the training ground on Tuesday morning ahead of a big return to the senior team.

His return to the team is a huge boost for the Phobians who have had a difficult start to the Ghana Premier League campaign losing one and drawing three.

The reigning Ghana Premier League champions will play host to Algerian side JS Saoura on Sunday in the CAF Confederations Cup final playoffs.
