VIDEO: Otumfuo charges GFA capo Kurt Okraku to end player exodus

Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has charged GFA President Kurt Okreku to effect measures to address the situation where talented footballers out of rush leave the shores of Ghana to continue with their career with foreign clubs.

According to the Asantehene, because most of such players did not undergo full and proper grooming, they are unable to go far in football.

Overlord of the Ashanti Kingdom indicated that, had such players exercised patience for proper grooming at the local level, they would have gone far with other international teams.

Giving the foregoing council during an official visit paid on him by the GFA President at the Manhyia palace on Wednesday, he raised that Kurt Okreku should work through a counseling and physicological unit and advise such category of talented youth to exercise patience for proper upbringing in football.

This he noted will provide Ghana with best football products.

He also admonished the GFA president to consider local footballers playing with other young clubs in Ghana for the senior team.

REASON FOR THE VISIT

Mr. Okreku paid the courtsey call on Otumfuo at the Manhyia palace to officially introduce members of the GFA executive council to him and seek for his guidance and blessings.

Members of the council present at the meeting were Nana Sarfo Oduro (CEO Brekum Chelsea), Mr. Kingsley Osei Bonsu ( CEO Bekyem United), Mr. Tony Obeng, Randy Abbey among others.
