Ghana duo Abdul Mumin and Gideon Mensah are hoping to invest more in startup businesses in the future.

The pair who ply their trade for Portuguese outfit Vitoria Guimaraes recently invested in the first edition of the Innovation Hackathon which took place in Kumasi and according to them, a lot more work has to be done when it comes to contributing to a sustainable environment in Ghana.

The event brought together 18 different startup ideas around the areas of Agri-Tech, Climate Action, and Renewable Energy.

Speaking on behalf of both players, Mumin explained why his team at HC Talent Group embarked on this project.

“Myself, Gideon Mensah, and Eric thought that we have to embark on more sustainable projects. If we look at the neighborhoods that we come from there are a lot of entrepreneurs with great ideas.  My team and I decided we could help make some of these ideas a reality”

He continued that, “Although we were here to invest, we’ve learnt a lot from what they pitched. It’s hard because we can’t help them all. But we want to do more and we hope in the future we can invest with a bigger capital,” he told Joy Sports.

The duo were key for the Portuguese side in the just-ended season.
