“We are on the right track” – Alexander Djiku reacts to Strasbourg pre-season training
Strasbourg defender Alexander Djiku is delighted with the team’s preparations ahead of the start of the new season.
Strasbourg played a 2-2 draw against Swiss Giants Young Boys in a pre-season friendly this week.
The 26-year-old featured for the side as they shared the spoils in the preparatory match.
Reacting to their performance, he insisted they are on the right path.
“The team had a good behavior overall, we had the strength of character and the mentality to come back after the 2-1. It shows the daily state of mind, of not wanting to let go”
“Knowing that Bern is a very good team which plays Europe every year and completely dominates its championship. In terms of play, we got off to a good start with a possession to our advantage which resulted in the goal”
“The action that precedes their equalization is 1-1, you can even double the bet. In the last quarter of an hour, we went back a little bit, but we formed a low block and that also allowed us to work on the defensive aspect, without the ball”
“In terms of animation, our 4-4-2 gave them problems by our permutations while keeping the balance. We continue to work on different systems, as in the second period with a 4-3-3, we are on the right track. I hope we will have a good season and I hope to see a full Meinau at the beginning of August” he said.
