We are working and aiming to be debt-free by the end of the year – Hearts of Oak Board Chairman Togbe Afede XIV
Togbe Afede XIV, the Majority shareholder and the Board Chairman of Hearts of Oak has assured that the club will be debt-free by the end of this year.
According to him, despite the club’s numerous infrastructural obligations and the financial uncertainty brought about by the Covid-19 Pandemic, he is determined to reverse the club’s financial fortunes.
“Our promise is, notwithstanding all of these developments by way of infrastructure to make Accra Hearts of Oak debt-free by the end of the year,” he said at the unveiling of Hearts of Oak’s new jerseys for the 2021/2022 season on Thursday.
.“Because the major shareholders of the club who have invested so much money in all these facilities will be happy, to convert all that is owed to them, into shares.
“Hearts of Oak will be a very unique club in this context. Almost every club in the world is in difficulty,” he added
As part of plans to raise money for the club, Togbe Afede also announced that the club intends to float more shares in the near future.
The Ghana Premier League champions are back to action this weekend when they play CL Kamsar in the preliminary one-off game in the Caf Champions League on Sunday.
The game has been scheduled to kick off at 15:00GMT at the Accra Sports Stadium.
