We don’t know when we will get a response – Safa
Danny Jordaan, president of the South African Football Association (SAFA), said that he does not know when they would receive an answer from FIFA on a prospective World Cup qualifying rematch between Bafana Bafana and Ghana.
SA’s football governing body filed an official protest with FIFA about Senegalese referee Maguette Ndiaye’s match refereeing during the Black Stars’ 1-0 Group G victory earlier in November.
Jordaan disclosed to renowned journalist Robert Marawa on his radio show that both SAFA and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) are awaiting a response from FIFA.
“I am just waiting on FIFA,” Jordaan told Marawa.
“We are sitting and waiting, and all sorts of stories are emerging. We don’t know when we will get a response,”
“We are just waiting; we did not submit documents to anyone other than FIFA,”
“An investigation is an investigation; they (FIFA) have to follow the leads. FIFA has the best capacity for investigation, and they have worldwide reach.”
“We did ask FIFA to investigate everything; it’s very important for both South Africa, Ghana & referees.”
