King Faisal FC head coach, Kasim Gökyildiz has blamed his side 1-1 home draw in the Ghana Premier League match-week 22 fixture on his Muslim players that are fasting in the Holy month of Ramadan.

King Faisal took an early lead through Zubairu Ibrahim but were undone by a late goal by
Bismark Oppong.

The coach who has won only one in five games took his Official Facebook account to blame his players involvement in the fasting as the cause of their failure to defend their early lead.

According to Kasim Gokyildiz, nine players who were handed a starting berth in their game against Karela United were involved in the ongoing Ramadan fast.

“We couldn’t prevent the match we took [dominated] almost 75 minutes ahead of our opponent in the game…two minutes before the end of the match [King Faisal conceded to end the game in a 1-1 draw]. We paid the price of nine players fasting,” Gökyildiz wrote

King Faisal are 17th on the league standing with 23 points after 22 games.
