Women’s Premier League: Hasaccas Ladies held by Sea Lions at home
Hasaacas Ladies missed a second half penalty as they were held 1-1 by Sea Lions at the Sekondi Gyandu park on Saturday.
Striker Milot Abena Pokua got the opener for Hasaacas Ladies in the 9th minute of the game after connecting a cross from Captain Perpetual Agyekum.
The goal lasted for only 10 minutes as the visitors fetched the equalizer in the 19th minute through Elizabeth Owusu.
It became a fairly balanced game afterwards, but both teams couldn’t find the net again to end the first half 1-1.
Back for the second half, substitute Veronica Appiah who came on for Doreen Copson chanced on a ball and in an attempt to score she was brought down by Sea Lions goalkeeper Martha Annan and the referee pointed to the spot.
Hasaacas Ladies captain Perpetual Agyekum stood up for the task but missed the penalty to leave the score 1-1.
Hasaacas ladies had several chances but couldn’t utilize them as the referee whistled for the end of the game.
Elizabeth Owusu of Sea Lions won the Nasco player of the Match award.
