Mahama reaffirms commitment to build a Ghana that works for all

The President-Elect of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his commitment to build a Ghana that works for all of Ghanaians.

The nation, a prosperous and a democratic one, he said will be based on the principles of freedom, justice, accountability as well as equal opportunity for all of its citizens.

Mr Mahama made the commitment in a Christmas message on Christmas Eve on Tuesday, December 24 sighted by GhanaPlus.com.

“I wish to also reaffirm my determination to build a nation that works for all, a prosperous and democratic state anchored in the principles of freedom, justice, accountability and equal opportunities for all,”  part of his Christmas message shared on his Facebook page reads.

Mr Mahama used the opportunity to thanked Ghanaians for the opportunity to serve them again as their President.

“As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and the values He lived in his own life, I wish to thank you the good people of Ghana, for bestowing on me the opportunity to serve you as your President and Commander in- Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces”.

Mahama returns to the Presidency

Ghanaians, gave Mr Mahama, a former President, the fourth under Ghana’s fourth Republic an overwhelming support to lead them again as their President.

He pulled a total of the Six Million , Three Hundred and Twenty Eight Thousand Three Hundred and Ninety Seven (6,328,397) votes representing 56.55%  beat to his major contender, and Flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

His overwhelming win has been described as unprecedented by many across the country.

Mr Mahama’s political party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) also recorded an overwhelming majority in the Parliamentary elections.
