Some people are made for purpose, not fame

After more than a decade of navigating Ghana’s music scene with unmatched lyrical talent, Ayisi, formerly known as A.I., is finally seeing the recognition many believe he has long deserved.

But for the soulful musician, real fulfillment comes not from fame, but from living out one’s purpose.

In a recent interview with Roselyn Felli on Joy Prime, Ayisi, born Emmanuel Kwadwo Oware, opened up about the quiet period in his career that left fans wondering about his absence. According to him, it wasn’t a full stop — just a necessary pause.

“I took a break because I wasn’t going for interviews and was handling some personal stuff too.

“But I was always going back to the studio to record and getting ready for the right moment when everything had settled because I’m not the type of person that will wait for everything to cool down before I’ll take actions.

“I was still recording and going to the studio, doing what I should be doing and when the right moment came I’m out here again,” he revealed.

For Ayisi, the journey has been about consistency and conviction. Though his name may not have dominated headlines in past years, he never stopped creating.

Beneath the silence was an artist honing his craft, waiting for the right time to re-emerge — not with noise, but with purpose.

“Now I’ve realized that some people are not made for the fame and all of the other stuff; some people are made for purpose,” he stated.
