I drove my dad’s Rolls Royce to buy McDonald’s – Davido

Afrobeats star Davido has taken fans down memory lane, recounting a humbling experience from his early days before fame found him.

In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @AsakyGRN, the Nigerian hitmaker recalled how, years ago, he once ran errands for music heavyweights Don Jazzy and D’Banj — using none other than his billionaire father’s Rolls Royce.

“Back in Atlanta, maybe 2007, 2008, or 2009… I was in my father’s house freestyling for Don Jazzy and D’Banj,” Davido said with a laugh. “They sent me to go buy McDonald’s — in my papa’s Rolls Royce.”

Though it might have seemed like a small moment back then, Davido now sees it as a symbol of how far he’s come.
