The Member of Parliament for the Tamale Central Constituency, Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala has accused the President, Nana Addo DankwaAkufo Addo and the New Patriotic Party of being the brain behind the supposed supporters of the NDC, Cadres for Accountable Leadership (CAL) who held a demonstration against the party on Tuesday.
Produce pink sheet, collated results in 14-days
The group on Tuesday,March 23 held a demonstration and a press conference and called on the party’s leadership to produce within 14 days collated figures or pink sheets for the 7 December 2020elections.
Failure to do so, the group demanded, the party must render an unqualified apology to the Chairperson of the Electoral Commissioner, Mrs Jean Mensa.
The group during the demonstration held placard some of which reads “NDC does not belong to Mahama”, “Mahama is destroying the NDC”, “Where is our pink sheet”, “Stop taking the grass root for granted,” etc.

However, reacting to the development on Hot News on Pan African Television on Wednesday, March 24, the Tamale Central MP said there was no doubt the group was being controlled by the President and his allies to cause harm to the NDC.
That he said was because the group was allowed to embark on demonstration in the midst of COVID-19 while same were denied others who intended to demonstrate against the ruling government using COVID-19 as an excuse.
“I a group of citizens of this country wanted to embark on demonstration, in fact picketing the Ghana Police said that they will not give them that chance, which is their right under the constitution article 21(1)d , the Ghana Police said they will not allow them to embark on that democratic right , their democratic right to demonstrate using COVID is that not the case? They want to court, are we not still in COVID? Why didn’t they apply same?.
“ It is very clear that everything they are doing is masterminded by this government. You don’t need any body to tell you they are being use by the NPP and Mr Nana Addo and his looting family,” the NDC law maker said.
He was of the view that true members of the party would never resort to demonstration to request for pink sheet adding the demonstration was ill intended.
