Ghana prodigy Kamaldeen Sulemana explains why he snubbed Ajax for Stade Rennes
Ghana teenage superstar Kamaldeen Sulemana has explained why he snub Dutch giants Ajax for Stade Rennes.
The 19-year-old signed a long-term contract with the French side for a reported 20 million euros in the summer transfer window.
The enterprising winger who had a tremendous season with FC Nordjaelland in Denmark last season became a subject of interest for several European clubs including Manchester United, Liverpool and other top club.
Initially, everyone thought Sulemana’s move to Ajax was a done deal but it took a nosedive with the latter signing for the French Ligue 1 outfit on a five-year deal.
Explaining why he snubbed Ajax for Rennes, he disclosed he knew he could get more playing time at the club.
“I knew I was going to have more playing time in Rennes. I felt that I was a priority here and also, I knew that I was going to be able to play against big teams like PSG”
“I came for this kind of game. Messi, Neymar, I watched them play when I was little, so being able to be on the same pitch as them is exciting and makes you want to give your all to show what I’m capable of. It’s a game I dreamed of playing” he said.
