Club Friendly : Liwa FC 1-1 Asante Kotoko – Stephen Amankona on target as Porcupines share spoil with UAE third tier side
Asante Kotoko were held to 1-1 stalemate by United Arab Emirates lower-tier side Liwa FC in a preseason friendly at the Shababal Ahli Stadium in Dubai.
Stephen Amankona scored the Porcupines only goal of the game as their winless in the middle season tour continue.
Coach Prosper Narteh made changes in his starting line up that were defeated by Al Hilal United as Maxwell Agyemang, Stephen Amankona, Mudasiru Salifu and Richmond Lamptey were handed starting berth against Liwa FC.
Trio Stephen Amankona, Dickson Afoakwa and Joseph Amoako kept tormenting the back line of Liwa FC which one of their fearsome attacks earned them the opener on the stroke of halftime.
Newly-signed forward Stephen Amankona brilliantly gave Asante Kotoko the lead on the 41st minute of the game.
In the second half, Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum introduced Richard Boadu, Sheriff Mohammed, Clinton Opoku and Andrews Appau as they were in search for more goals.
Liwa FC gained possession in the last ten minutes of the game as they outplayed Asante Kotoko to level the score in the dying embers of the game.
Young forward Mohamud Sheriff scored late in the game for Liwa FC making sure the spoil is shared at the Shababal Ahli Stadium in Dubai.
