Residents of Butumegyebu (BU), a suburb of Sekondi-Takoradi in the Western Region of Ghana are excited about getting their first tarred road in the township after several years of plea to the government to fix their roads.
The residents expressed gratitude to the Government and the Member of Parliament of the Constituency, Mr Joe Ghartey for his contribution towards having a section of their roads fixed as they believe this is a first step to get all their roads tarred.

A resident said, “I want to thank the MP for this big change in our community, I have lived in BU for almost 30 years and this is the first road that has been tarred in our community.”
According to some of the residents, life has not been easy living in the BU township as all roads are in a deplorable state making some drivers in Takoradi refuse to drive them to the township when hired.

Residents heaped praise on the contractor responsible for working on that particular road for doing great work as they never expected such a perfect outcome.
They made it known since a section of their roads have been fixed, they hope the Government will also fix the BU junction to Adiembra road as it is also an important road for residents.
