Winners of this year’s Adonko Radio and Television personality awards (RTP) will take home plot lands as part of their award package.
Speaking on TV3 Midday News and monitored by GhanaPlus.com, the Founder and Chief Executive officer of RTP, Prince Mackay said the new package was to give winners value for their hard work.
“The winners are going to take home a piece of land each, where they can have their settlement in the future”.
“What we want to do is to be able to give value. Like I have said we have given so many price packages but we think that it time we step up to the point that even when they are eventually living in the building that they use the land to put up, they will remember that they work hard and they won an award and through that, they won the land” he added.
According to Prince Mackay, other prize packages would reduce in value with time, however, the value of land would appreciate year in year on and that explains why the organizers of the prestigious awards chose to offer winners the land.
“The value of the car will probably depreciate but the value of the land will appreciate from year to year,” Mr. Mackay said.
Mr. Mackay hails their achievement over the 10years of existence adding that there hasn’t been any single year that anybody has recorded any complaint about the credibility of the awards.
“One of the things that we are looking out for is to have a very credible scheme and over the years even the industry people can testify that there inst a time that people know who is winning what, never, it never happens”.
RTP Awards
RTP award was instituted in 2011 to celebrate excellence in the radio and television industry which offers millions of jobs to the people in the country.
